    Pointe-au-Pere Sea Museum

    Musee de la mer de Pointe-au-Pere (Pointe-au-Pere Sea Museum) is dedicated to telling the story of the ill-fated Empress of Ireland, a ship that sunk on May 29, 1914 taking the lives of 1,012 passengers. Visitors can learn about Canada's worst maritime disaster through exhibits, photos, eyewitness encounters and items salvaged from the ship. The museum also features an interactive tour and there is a souvenir shop and picnic area on site.
